The Peak; for the best views

Hong Kong Island surrounded by deep waters and wide harbours is dominated by hills and mountains. The Victoria Peak which is also called 'The Peak' has made an international reputation for itself for the breathtaking view of Victoria harbour, Kowloon and Wan Chai strip of Hong Kong Island and the Central. For those who travel to Hong Kong during the time of the tingling summer heat, the cooler and humid climate of Peak would be the ideal getaway.
Standing 552 metres tall, The Peak has many paths to traverse up and down. Many residents have been lured in by the overwhelming surrounding of the peak since the 19th century. The tram route which connected the Victoria Gap on The Peak to the south of Murray Barracks constructed in 1888, know as The Peak Tramway, paved way for many wealthy residents as well as travelers to move into The Peak to seek the benefits of its most agreeable weather.
Known as the most conspicuous landmark, the peak is a great place for walks among Lilliputian Chinese pines, forests of bamboo and fern, vines and hibiscus flowers. The finest panoramic views from The Peak would stretch all the way to China and Macau. The adventurous traveller can take the challenge of a two hour hike from Lugard Road to Harlech Road to gaze below at the harbour. Green Island and Peng Chau to the north, and Lantau and Macau towards the west will also be good spots for similar hiking experiences. The Cafés at The Peak which are across the tram terminus will offer delicious local delicacies. The Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum which is founded after the well know television programme is also a frequented attraction at The Peak. The footpaths through The Peak's forests that a traveller would come across while descending from The Peak would provide some exceptional views.
